GETTING THERE
From Vouliagmeni to the City Centre
In case you want to use public transportation towards the city centre, you can use different means such as buses, metro or tram.
Buses from Vouliagmeni towards the metro station of Elliniko:

Bus 122 with direction Saronida - St. Argiroupoli. You can take the bus at the station “PLAZ BOULIAGMENHS” (on Posidonos Avenue close to the restaurant area) and go down to the station “ST. ELLHNIKO”, where you can take the red line of the metro towards Anthoupoli and go down at Akropoli, Syntagma, Panepistimio
(based on where you want to go).

Trams:

You can use the tram that passes through the central shopping street of Glyfada, which is called Avenue Dimarchou Aggelou Metaxa (or simply Metaxa). From there, you have to take the tram with directions to Syntagma. The tram starts from Voula (the city in between Glyfada & Vouliagmeni).

Tips
1. In the trams and metro stations or in the bus station “PL. GLYFADAS”, there are small stations or machines where you can purchase tickets. The duration of a one-way ticket is 90 minutes and can be used for all public transportation means (even a combination of them within that duration). The cost of the one-way ticket is €1.20. The ticket with a duration of 24 hours costs €4.10 and there is also a 5-day ticket at €8.20. If you want to use public transportation, it is safer to buy your tickets at a metro or tram station, because you might not find a ticket point at a bus station.
2. From Vouliagmeni and Glyfada, you can also get a taxi that can bring you to the metro station of Elliniko and then take the red line of the metro with directions to Anthoupoli to go to the city centre. This is probably the fastest way.

In order to return, you will need to take the red metro line again with directions to Elliniko. The same applies to all the buses you take, the same bus, just in the opposite direction.
Public Transport Apps
There are two apps that will make it easier for you to use public transportation in Athens:
1. “OASA Telematics”, which is a governmental app, where you can see all the bus lines with their stops. You can also track the buses and check the timetable.
This app can also show you the closest bus stop.
2. “Moovit” can help you find different ways of transportation. You can enter your desirable location and it shows you the way.
Taxi Service
The Athens Airport Taxi service has a flat rate of €38 during the day (before midnight) to the city centre. This method provides the least hassle when getting from Athens airport to the city centre.
Catching a taxi from Athens International Airport is very easy. Follow the signs, or simply step outside the arrivals area. There will be a long queue of yellow taxis waiting in line. Walk to the right, and then join the queue for the next available taxi.
